Can Apos® help avoid surgery?

If you are considering surgery, ask us about Apos®.

How do I use the Apos® footwear?

Our innovative scientific approach transforms your painful walking into a way of healing. In other words, we made complex science simple and created solutions tailored for your pain. All you need is to wear the shoe and our science will do the rest.
For a specific explanation of how to use the Apos® medical device, please enjoy this video about How to use your Apos® footwear.

What is the technology behind the Apos® footwear?

The key to Apos® is that it redirects the pressure away from the affected areas of the knees and lower back. Over time, the muscles gain the coordination and control to maintain the improved walking pattern even when not wearing the Apos® footwear.
Short-term off-the-shelf solutions and quick fixes may not work. Instead, you need a scientific, innovative treatment tailored to your unique knees and back. Enjoy this video about how Apos® works – Effortless Success – How Apos® Works in the Background

What is the difference between Apos® and orthopaedic shoes (rocker bottom shoes)?

While orthopedic shoes buffer the pressure on your joints, Apos® does the opposite. Apos® challenges your muscles, particularly your stabiliser muscles, to improve the way you move and function, thus teaching the body to relieve pain and pressure on your joints by functioning better.

How often should I wear my Apos® footwear?

Your Apos® clinician will recommend the best treatment program for you. Typically, patients walk in the Apos® footwear for a few minutes daily at the start to get the most benefit and work up to 12 minutes of daily Apos® walking time.

What is included in the Apos® treatment?

The Apos® program includes the personalised Apos® footwear, follow-up monitoring, care from a qualified Apos® trained clinician, a personalised treatment program, follow-up consultations, adjustments of components of the foot-worn device according to the clinical needs at the follow-up consultations, and patient support services.

When will I begin to see results with Apos®?

You should begin to see improvement as early as 6 weeks to 3 months after you start your treatment. According to clinical research, 85% of Apos® patients feel improvement in the first 3 months of starting Apos® treatment. To monitor your progress with Apos®, be sure to attend your regularly follow-up appointments where your Apos® trained clinician will measure exactly how you are walking, among other things, to monitor your progress and advance your treatment.

What does clinical research say about Apos®?

Apos® is a clinically proven treatment for knee osteoarthritis. A 2020 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) showed that 92% of patients with knee osteoarthritis who were treated with Apos® reported more than a 30% reduction in pain while 83% reported more than a 50% reduction in pain.
Clinical studies have also shown improvement in function and quality of life, as well as a significant reduction in pain medication use among patients with chronic knee pain. According to a patient satisfaction survey, 98% of patients said that they would recommend Apos® to friends and family.
