This innovative orthosis offers dynamic support and resistance, helping patients stand taller, walk stronger, and maintain greater independence.
What is the Agilik™?
Agilik™ is a non-invasive mobility aid designed to improve gait and overall mobility for individuals with knee-extension-deficiency disorders, such as cerebral palsy, stroke and spina bifida. Unlike traditional exoskeletons, Agilik™ does not hold the user up or walk for them. Instead, it works in harmony with the wearer's movements, providing real-time assistance for knee flexion and extension during the gait cycle.
The device is lightweight, customizable, and integrates seamlessly with a knee-ankle-foot orthosis (KAFO) to create a personalised system. It is suitable for patients aged five and older and can be used in various settings, including clinics, homes, and communities.
How Does Agilik™ Work?
The Agilik™ features advanced sensors and joint motors that precisely measure knee angles, angular velocity, and gait events like initial contact and toe-off. Based on this real-time data, the orthosis intelligently adjusts the level of assistance it provides, either supporting knee extension or resisting movement to build strength.
Additionally, the device offers gait metrics that help therapists make informed decisions for patient therapy.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Agilik Smart Orthosis, patients need to meet the following criteria:
- The Agilik is designed for individuals aged 5 years and older
- The device supports patients across a wide weight range of 20 kg to 125 kg
- Patients must have a physical need for the Agilik, as determined by a doctor or orthotist
- The Agilik is suitable for individuals with conditions such as cerebral palsy, stroke, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, and other knee-extension-deficiency disorders
- Patients experiencing knee instability in the sagittal plane during the stance phase of their gait cycle may benefit from the Agilik
